How To: Fix a Dress That Won’t Stop Riding Up

unnamed (1)

Yesterday, I wanted to wear this dress to work. However, after I put it on and began moving about my house to finish getting ready, I noticed that it would not stop riding up, as you can probably tell if you look at my sides in the next picture; the dress is clearly bunched.

Well, being that I hadn’t worn the dress yet and also that I had about five minutes before I had to leave, I wasn’t changing into something else. I simply couldn’t. But I also couldn’t spend the night holding onto my hem. So what to do? How to fix it?

I don’t know how this idea popped into my head, but it did.

In my panic to leave for work on time (because I’m terrified of being late), I somehow decided to simply put a skirt over top of my dress and thus turn my malfunction into a shirt.

And it worked. Boy did it work! I didn’t have one wardrobe adjustment to make all night long. It was fantastic.

So, if you are ever in a hurry (or not) and are having issues with a dress riding up, simply leave the dress be and throw a cute skirt over top of it. Not only will you feel awesome, but you’ll look it, too.

Layering is a magical, magical thing, my friend.
