Bangtan Style: Dressing as “Dope” as BTS in “Jjeoreo” (Jungkook Edition)

A.K.A. Office attire with a twist.

Note: No bowl cuts, center parts, hair dye, or mad dance moves required.

[Editor’s Note: So, I already did this post last week, but due to its length, I’ve decided to pull it, chop it into tiny pieces, and then re-release it in segments, focusing on one group member per post. And since I think I’m going to release one a day (and there are seven members in total), consider this to officially be Bangtan Week on I Really Hate Converse! Yippee!

I mean, not that it isn’t always Bangtan Week on here, anyway, but still: You get what I mean.

So sorry if you’ve already seen this. Now, however, you’ll be able to more easily manage the content. Yippee, again!]

Currently, I can’t see (due to allergies affecting my left eye and thus leaving me to my right eye, a.k.a. my near-blind eye), so I am going to keep this short and simple: It’s time for the next segment of this “dressing like Bangtan” series. We’re carrying on with none other than Jungkook, my personal favorite member of the group — but not my personal favorite outfit of this series…

Hey, we all can’t be perfect all the time, now can we?

Very quickly, though, I feel I should mention that I’m doing this because the “Dope” MV was just so awesome that I can’t resist the urge to pay tribute to it through fashion documentation. Hopefully that makes this all seem a little less random.

Also, here’s where you can click to see the last post in this series (Rap Mon), and here’s where you can click to see the next one (once it’s up, of course).

And here is where you can watch the MV:

Like I said: short and sweet. Abrupt, short, and sweet.

Look Book: Dressing Like You’re Jungkook in the “Jjeoreo” MV

So I have a bit of a disclaimer before we get started: No, the outfit I’ve provided below is not identical to the one Jungkook wears in the MV. Now, as disappointed as you may be, just take a moment to think: Do you really want to leave your house dressed exactly like Jungkook…only to get arrested for impersonating a police officer later? No, I didn’t think so, which means that you should be glad all I have is a simple, feminine recreation.

But even though only a recreation, it should still make you feel pretty sexy and bad@$$. Because, even though Bangtan may not be the best style inspiration out there 100% of the time, they still do have many moments when their stylists completely nail it, making the boys all look pretty darn fine. And “Dope,” even though kind of just an occupation-themed Halloween party, was certainly no exception. Certainly not.

Especially with Jungkook 🙂

Especially.

(I think you all get what I mean by that ;D)

But anyway, let’s get on to the actual post:

First, however, can we just take a moment to appreciate how well the maknae has grown up? I think we can.

However, I think his handsomeness is also due to the fact that his hair is once again actually parted. No offense to anyone who prefers no part, but I’ve noticed that leaving it in its natural, salad-bowl-like state also leaves him looking, well, like the fetus that he is. But, hey, he’ll grow out of it eventually.

And in the meantime, we’ll all love him despite it.

Awww!

And now for the final tangent before we get into the real post: WHY HAS NO ONE NOTICED THAT JUNGKOOK’S HAIR IS DYED PURPLE???

jk2

Seriously, it was the first thing I noticed because IT IS GLORIOUS, yet only one other person I’ve seen thus far has also realized.

I think we need to get our priorities straight, ARMY.

Okay, tangent over. Now for my incredibly underwhelming recreation of this outfit. Sorry, Kookie, but it doesn’t do you justice. Not even close…

How to Impersonate Jeon Jungkook as He is Impersonating a Police Officer [Without Getting Arrested]: Wear fitted clothing in all black with similarly colored yet kind of sparkly accessories in order to mimic the uniform with all of its bells and whistles. Then add swag.

As well as general silliness and happiness.

Basically, I chose a short-sleeve, black shirt because he was wearing a short-sleeve, black shirt. I also chose a belt and black pants because he was wearing a belt and black pants. I mean, it’s really simple to recreate this look: Just wear all black, and make sure it fits you well. BOOM: Instant police officer.

Kind of…

I do recommend trying black harem pants/dress joggers instead of skinny jeans/general black denim for this look, though; harem pants/joggers are more similar to what he’s wearing, plus they’ll make you seem like you tried a little harder (even though you really didn’t) and thus make you look more pulled-together. But I, unfortunately, do not own black harem pants/dress joggers, so this is what I had to use. #realtalk

I also chose a brown belt instead of black just to break up the monochrome some. If you want to make it more like his outfit in the MV, however, choose a black belt instead.

(No martial arts training necessary.)

Since plain black boots to match his would have definitely made this outfit bore you to death, I instead chose some pretty intensely adorned smoking slippers. I think they add just the right amount of swag and general bad@$$ery that Jungkook naturally brings to anything he touches. Like Midas, but with coolness.

(P.S. – Pardon my overuse of the word “swag” in this post, but with BTS, it just feels right.)

Also, these shoes are bling-y enough to replace a normal police officer’s badges, as we should all aim to do in our recreations. (Must I bring up the arrest thing again??)

This necklace was also chosen because, even though feminine, it’s still pretty bad and bling-y.

And you can’t forget the gauges! Kudos to him for having real ones, but, uh, yeah. I’m good with the fakes.

^I just thought this picture was fun 🙂 It also kind of shows off my hair, which is just a high, side ponytail. I feel like its quirkiness pretty nicely offsets the rest of this rather subdued outfit.

Tip: To get your hair way high on the top of your head, just bend all the way forward, bunch it on your crown, stand up straight again, and then proceed to tie it in place. (Hopefully you get what I mean here…)

FINAL

And we’re done!

So what do you think? Does this capture well our little Officer Kookie? I hope so, and I also hope that you liked it so much you’re going try it out yourselves!

But even if you didn’t and therefore aren’t going to, I still had tons of fun making it, and I’m so happy you took the time to give it a look.

Once again, click here for the previous segment, and click here for the next (once it is up, of course).

And that is all! As always, have a wonderful day, and see you soon! ❤

P.S. – I’ve not included the brands of/links to any of what I’m wearing in this for one purpose: to keep me sane. Sorry if I’m breaking any hearts here, but all of these garments are long out of stores (most by a few years), and so it simply isn’t worth my time. If you really want to know where something is from, however, just let me know, and I’ll tell you (as well as try to help you find something similar).

P.P.S. — Bangtan hwaiting!
