Bangtan Style: How to Dress Like V and Suga in BTS “FIRE”

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: They’re playing in both LA and Newark for KCon 2016 in June. Tickets for Newark go on sale Monday at 1 p.m. Idk when LA tickets go on sale cause I live in Pittsburgh and thus didn’t bother looking it up. You can look it up yourself. As for Newark, see you there. Hopefully. Maybe. Cause I’m apparently made of money and am going no matter the cost.

Bangtan Style: How to Dress Like V and Suga in BTS “FIRE”

This is another combo outfit, because I physically cannot recreate every single one in the music video. I would be here for weeks. I’m already going to be here for weeks. I have other stuff I want to talk about, other posts I need to make TTTT

Okay, so I really just like these parts of the MV. Judge me. I don’t care. They’re sick.

Now here’s my recreation:

Not as fly as the MV, I know. Apologies. Also, shoutout to the hair on my dress that’s glinting in the sun.

This outfit is by far my favorite BTS recreation that I’ve ever done. It just works, every single thing about it, and if the hat and jacket were not my sister’s, I would totally wear it again. Thank you, Bekah, for letting me borrow them. You’re a rockstar.

Anyway, how did I decide what to wear? During the MV, I noticed V was wearing a distressed denim jacket, some necklaces, and all black underneath. I also noticed that Suga was wearing a Hawaiian shirt of a similar color and style to V’s jacket, as well as a white baseball cap and all black on the bottom. Being the pragmatist that I am, I thought, why not mash the two together and see what happens?

An all black, high neck dress with a denim jacket, white baseball cap, and some sneakers end up not only perfectly capturing the casual, cool vibe of V’s and Suga’s outfits, but they also end up being pretty freaking adorable, if I do say so myself. What else could you ask for?

Time to take a looksie at the shoes:

To be 100 percent true to the original styling, you shouldn’t wear tennis shoes. But V’s shoes weren’t plain black like the rest of the crew’s, so I couldn’t simply throw on my handy-dandy oxfords yet again. In a game-time decision, I ended up going with the above sneakers. Why? Because they aren’t black, they tie in nicely to the hat and the jacket, and they bring the tennis shoe look from the rest of the MV in to this one. So even though they aren’t 100 percent accurate, they definitely are permissible.
